Do you love playing an interesting and great sounding guitar? Or, do you have the bug to build something unique?
Using over 200 color photos, this book walks you through two cigar box guitar builds. All the required tools are listed and the parts are described in detail. The electric cigar box guitar build is provided with in depth detail and all steps are explained in simple terms. There are plenty of photos to show you what is being done. The second guitar built is an acoustic cigar box guitar. This build refers duplicate steps back to the electric and focuses on the differences in the build.
You will learn how to make fretboards, how to wire the jack, volume and pickup, how to make a solid guitar and how to string the guitar. There are three appendixes that expand on certain build features as well.
All in all, this book contains everything you will need to build the cigar box guitar of your dreams.

This book isn't giving you much in the way of theory or explanation. Nor does it attempt to explain why the author uses the same bridge for an unfretted slide electric and a fretted acoustic. Four string guitars are not mentioned, only one type of electric guitar pickup is shown with no discussion of types, no fret spacing equations are presented, and you will find no diatonic fretting mentioned. The book is geared specifically to two types of three string, without much variety.Within those limitations, the book gives a very well illustrated step by step method of building either a three string electric, or a three string acoustic with piezo pickup. The instructions are so clear that, were a beginner with modest tools and skills to follow them exactly and seek outside resources where so directed, he almost could not fail to produce a playable, attractive guitar. There is very little here for even a modestly experienced builder, but quite a lot for the novice. And while there is little theory, generally there is enough for the novice to understand why certain decisions are made, such as potting the piezo or cutting away the through neck

Build Your Own CBG edition by Eric Kasten Arts Photography eBooks Reviews
Nice walk through step by step. I found myself paging through to take notes on a separate piece of paper since I had a digital copy to write down all the measurements in one place. Covers acoustic and electric CBG. Good book at a good price. Is nice to kill time reading in my phone.
well worth the $7 I paid for the kindle version
Well laid out tutorial. Built my first CBG using this for reference.
Very good primer building your own CBG!
Still reading, makes it easy to reread the subject, but some prints are blurry. Thanks. Charles
Covers the basics. brief and easy-to-understand
My go to book; excellant step by step; photos; without the self congratulation or star turns of other builders.
